LeBron James’ Road to Greatness

Just five days ago the whole world marked out LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers of winning the NBA championship after the unforeseen injury of the Cavs’ star point guard, Kyrie Irving, during game 1 of the NBA finals.

There is no denying that LeBron James has been criticized for his decision to join other elite players in order to win championships. How can we forget about the time he left his hometown to join Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh to help the Miami Heat win two championships. And he’s done it again! This time by returning home joining all star players Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love to help the Cavs win their first championship (hopefully).

Think about Jordan or even Kobe. Yes, Jordan had Pippen when he won 6 titles, and Kobe had Shaq when he won 3. But the point is… Jordan made Pippen become a better player through his greatness. If it was not for Jordan there would be no Pippen and the same thing can be said about Kobe’s and Shaq. Both of those players never had to leave their team to join other greats in order to become a champion.

Some argue that LeBron took an easier path. Do you agree? When he went to Miami to pair up with Dwayne Wade, Wade was already a champion before James arrival. Bosh was considered to be the best power forward, before LeBron even arrived. The same can be said about LeBron’s return to Cleveland. Firstly you have Kyrie, who was the starting all-star point guard before LeBron even arrived. Then you have Kevin Love, who averaged a near triple double before LeBron’s arrival. Yes, we all know LeBron is a champion, but is he one of the GOAT (Greatest of All Time)? That is still up for the debate.

With the injury blow on Kevin Love and now Kyrie Irving, LeBron is now left to win the championship without his star teammates. But the question remains… can he do it? His win in game 2 just made things a little more interesting. LeBron is now on a mission to put to shame every critic who has negatively criticized him. He is on a mission to deliver the first championship ever to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is on a mission to be considered the greatest player to ever play the game.

This is LeBron James’ road to greatness. Will you be watching?

Game 3 of the NBA finals continues tonight at 9:00PM.
